In today’s world, having access to high-speed internet is essential for full participation. This includes how we work, learn, live, access healthcare, and participate in democracy. To ensure prosperity in Wisconsin communities, local and regional partners need to plan for broadband access thoughtfully. In this webinar, we discuss the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program and provide an overview of state-wide broadband planning efforts and funding opportunities for local county and Tribal broadband planning.

Our Presenters

Jaron McCallum is the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator within the Wisconsin Broadband Office (WBO) in the Division of Digital Access, Consumer and Environmental Affairs (DACEA) at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC). In his role, he pursues strategic initiatives, projects, and partnerships to advance broadband expansion, support technical assistance to communities, increase outreach and stakeholder engagement, and promote the work and mission of the broadband office. Jaron has been with the WBO in various roles for over seven years.

Rory Tikalsky is manager of the Wisconsin Broadband Office (WBO) and is responsible for overseeing grantmaking, outreach, mapping, and planning efforts to make high speed internet accessible and affordable for all Wisconsinites. Rory has a Master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining WBO, Rory worked in budget management and policy development for the Wisconsin Legislature.
