RESET: Engaging Wisconsin Communities in Renewable Energy
County Reports

Building Informed Communities
As large renewable energy projects increase across Wisconsin, they can bring both benefits and challenges. Proactive education and engagement can address concerns and help communities plan for the future.
By learning more about large-scale renewable energy and actively participating in community conversations, you will be better prepared when a project is proposed.

RESET County Reports
In January 2025, Green County became the first county in Wisconsin to participate in the RESET process. This was followed by Taylor County and then Vernon County. Each county’s process of community engagement gathered community perspectives through an advisory team, focus groups, a mapping workshop, and two community conversations. The reports document each community’s input and provide information addressing questions raised in the following areas:
- Introduction to Electricity and Large-Scale Solar
- Laws, Policy & Planning
- Economics
- Environment
- Land Use
- Decommissioning
- Health & Safety
