RESET: Engaging Wisconsin Communities in Renewable Energy
Green County Report

Building Informed Communities
As large renewable energy projects increase across Wisconsin, they can bring both benefits and challenges. Proactive education and engagement can address concerns and help communities plan for the future.
By learning more about large-scale renewable energy and actively participating in community conversations, you will be better prepared when a project is proposed.

What is the Green County Report?
In January 2025, Green County became the first county in Wisconsin to participate in the RESET process. In Green County, the process of community engagement gathered community perspectives through an advisory team, focus groups, a mapping workshop, and two community conversations. The report documents the community’s input and provides information addressing questions raised in the following areas:
- Introduction to Electricity and Large-Scale Solar
- Laws, Policy & Planning
- Economics
- Environment
- Land Use
- Decommissioning
- Health & Safety
