The Future of Placemaking

An immersive, hands-on conference designed
for Placemakers.

The Pursuit of Place Summit is a three-day, fully immersive experience held at the historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, June 23-25, 2026.

Designed to be hands-on, participants can expect engaging sessions, immersive tours, and opportunities to collaborate on the future of placemaking.

This summit was made possible by a grant from the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development (NCRCRD).

  • Investigate the dynamics of stewarding community partnership and empowerment.

  • Integrating knowledge and action for long-term positive community change.
  • Identify research and evaluation tools for community-based projects.
  • Investigate strategies and practices for community place action programs.

Explore how the Green Bay Packers organization is partnering with businesses and the community to create a unique placemaking effort that includes housing, entertainment, dining, medical, offices, and public spaces. All summit attendees will share a unique placemaking experience together that will kick-off a summit of thought-provoking experiences.

Held concurrently, Summit participants may select between either an urban or rural placemaking tour.

An immersive investigation and dialogue about how local businesses and organizations are transforming the Broadway District in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The purpose of this tour is to provide an example of urban placemaking for participants to examine and initiate dialogue.

Develop an understanding of how Extension is helping rural communities through placemaking.  The purpose of this tour is to provide an example of Extension’s rural placemaking work to spark discussion about roles, methods, and impacts.
